Dr. Biermann Has Been Developing Treatment Plans for Adults Interested in Braces for Crowded Teeth in Beaverton for Over 17 Years — We Have Hundreds of Five-Star Reviews From Patients Like You
My daughter got her braces off today. Our experience with Dr. Biermann and all the staff has been great. Our dentist discussed pulling some of her teeth, but Dr. Biermann was able to fix her teeth without pulling a single tooth. Everyone at Biermann Orthodontics is professional and friendly.
Dr. Biermann and his team are extremely professional and friendly! Getting my orthodontics treatment from them was the best decision of my life. It was a slow and steady process, and needed a lot of patience, but in the end, it was all worth it. I love my new smile and will forever be grateful for the treatment I received from them!
Dr. Biermann and staff are wonderful, the best! I started braces in 2013 as an adult with Dr. Biermann. The 18-month process was smooth with terrific results. Dr. Biermann and staff were always accommodating to my sensitive gag reflex. Since completing braces in 2015, I wear a bonded retainer wire behind front teeth to prevent teeth from moving. Over the years, the wire has come loose (sometimes lost) and Dr. Biermann will see me the same day or the day after to rebond the wire. Furthermore, when my dentist recommended I wear a night guard, my dentist did not have the new scan technology and wanted to use old-school impressions which are difficult with a gag reflex. Dr. Biermann graciously performed the teeth scan and sent the results to my dentist so I could get a night guard. Dr. Biermann and team are always professional and caring with the highest customer service that I have enjoyed for almost 10 years now.
So grateful for the team at Biermann Orthodontics!! Although I had braces as a teen, over the years my teeth moved and it affected my bite and aesthetically it also bothered me. I considered orthodontics for years but was hesitant to pursue treatment thinking it was too expensive and I was too old, etc. Luckily, we were referred to Dr. Biermann when my daughter needed to start treatment. After meeting the team it was clear this could be much easier than I originally thought. Everyone on the team is kind and knowledgeable. They strive for punctuality with appointments being on time or even earlier. Initially, I was advised my alignment could take a year; here I am 4 months later, done with treatment and so happy with the results. If you need orthodontic care, don’t hesitate to go for a consultation, you will be glad you did!
The entire staff at Biermann Orthodontics is amazing. They are all very friendly and accommodating. I had some special needs regarding my orthodontic treatment and they were able to provide a plan for me to achieve my desired result while being very affordable! I am very happy I chose here to do my treatment. I also asked a lot of questions and had a lot of concerns before the first consultation. However, the treatment coordinator, Miss Miller, was very happy to answer all my concerns. The office is very cute and tidy and offers a wide selection of tea and coffee. For all my visits so far, I had an extremely short wait time. My orthodontic appliances seem to so far be of very good quality. I am very happy as a patient here.
We’ve Had Experience With Hundreds of Complex Treatment Plans for Braces for Crowded Teeth
While individuals with crowded teeth have many options for the types of braces to choose from, you and your dentist should consider the potential issues that may occur with crowded teeth, including gum disease and tooth decay, misalignment, and difficulty chewing.
Issues With Crowded Teeth
Gum Disease and Tooth Decay
Maintaining proper cleanliness becomes challenging when your teeth are overcrowded. The inability to brush and floss properly can cause a buildup of bacteria in your mouth, severely affecting your gums and leading to problems like gingivitis.
Additionally, cavities can easily form as a result of plaque and bacteria that become trapped between your teeth and gums
Misalignment
Crowded teeth are often misaligned. Not only can this result in a less-than-optimal smile, but it can also cause you to suffer from mouth pain. You might experience inflamed jaws and clenching or stress on your teeth that can lead to temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ).
Difficulty Chewing
When your teeth are crowded, it can also make it difficult to chew. This means your teeth have more wear and tear than they should, and it can result in:
- Cavities
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Jaw pain or TMJ
- Headaches
- And more
Answering the Most Frequently Asked Questions About Braces for Crowded Teeth
Do You Need Braces for Crowded Teeth?
While not everyone with crowded teeth will require braces, they can be a wise choice for some individuals. Braces for crowded teeth can:
- Improve your overall oral health
- Help you avoid jaw problems like TMJ
- Keep teeth from breaking or chipping
- Properly align your bite to help you speak and swallow correctly
Can I Get Braces if My Teeth Are Crowded?
Absolutely! Many people think their teeth are too crowded for braces, but that’s just not the case.
Braces work to space out crowded teeth by gently applying pressure to them to gradually move them into the correct position.
How Long Do You Need Braces for Crowded Teeth?
While the American Association of Orthodontists reports a national average treatment time of 27 months, Dr. Biermann’s patients benefit from the latest and most advanced technology and have an average treatment time of only 18 months.
However, the length of time you’ll have to wear braces for crowded teeth may be somewhat longer and will vary depending on several factors, including:
- How crowded your teeth are – If your crowding isn’t too severe, braces can usually be completed in as short as six to 12 months. More complex crowding, like overlapping, may require a longer treatment plan.
- How old you are – Your age can have a significant impact on how long braces take for crowded teeth. Teens or young adults may see faster results since their teeth typically move more quickly and easily than older adults, but this isn’t always the case.
- How compliant you are – If you want to see the fastest results with braces for crowded teeth, you’ll want to be sure to follow our instructions to the letter.
How Do Braces for Crowded Teeth Work?
Braces for crowded teeth work by placing constant, gentle pressure on your teeth and jaws to alter their position and rework your smile.
The brackets glued to your teeth hold the archwire in place. This wire puts pressure on your teeth and, over time, moves your teeth into the desired position.
